With Tony Gwyn losing his battle with cancer today ... I was just wondering if anyone here has a tobacco habit?

I dipped a little in high school, but I quickly got a cavity where I held it, so I stopped.

I smoke about a pack and a half a day. Cancer isn't prevalent in either side of my family, so I don't worry about it. Massive heart attack is my way out.

Lost my grandfather to cancer (throat cancer, smoked a lot) and decided never to take up the habit.

My aunt smoked about one pack per week and cancer destroyed her slowly at age 52.

Don't kid yourself about smoking. Dying slowly is the worst.

Quit way back in the early 80s right out of high school. Can't even imagine how kids can pick it up now-a-days with all the cancer deaths that have/are happening.

My father in law died from esophageal cancer. I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy. A horrible way to die.

So surprised those are not all over the place. It amazes me that cities are trying to treat them the same, or ban them. Please enlighten. I would think that would really help those who smoke cigarettes to get off them.

Mitragyna speciosa! More commonly referred to as Kratom. It is in the coffee family (Rubiaceae). It is a pretty magical plant. Helped me quit smoking weed/drinking alcohol and apparently helps a lot of people quit opiates.

Helps with depression, anxiety (particularly social which is my issue), kills pain, great for meditation, its an antioxidant, good for sex, and increases metabolism!

    and lowers blood pressure! :cheer:

It's quite obviously big tobacco pushing to make them a bad item. Are they good for you? I don't think so, but are they bad for you containing water, nicotine, and flavor additives? I strongly believe not.

As for using them I was a pack a day guy for years. I switched to e cigs months ago and haven't looked back. I don't smoke it all day, but when the urge hits I puff for a couple of minutes and it holds me over. The great thing is I get my physical addiction addresse via the nicotine and the act of vaping it's the mental addiction of a smoking sensation. I even got my father to cut out half hos cigarette use in one week using the e cigs. He's working on quitting now because of them after smoking for 40 years
