Jesus we were all so young! 15, 16, 17, 18 and now people are dying! Just found out another one of my classmates died this weekend! That's 5 now!

It sounds normal when my parents tell me this shit but happening to me and my friends? ugh.

Just venting. please feel free to do the same.

Three from my 8th grade class are gone. I'm almost 48 so that's way too young to me! Alot more from HS too who weren't actually friends, tho.

if they were dying of natural causes, yes. as-is, i'm 36 (but not from CA) and there are probably half a dozen that i know of from my class. but all were drugs/alcohol, accidents or special medical conditions. i remember when people my dad knew from school started dropping from heart attacks about 10 years ago. one of them was a friend who was in much better shape. i know that really freaked him out. not enough for him to start taking care of himself, of course. maybe that was his thought, though. the guy took care of himself and look where it got him.

I had one who died while in high school. She was asthmatic. Had an attack, couldn't breathe, lost consciousness and cracked her head on the sidewalk and died. Very sad. Think she was 15.

My father always told me about my cousin's husband. Call him "Joe." Out of all the people my father grew up with, Joe was always the straight-shooter; never drank, messed around with drugs, women, etc. Was in fantastic shape.

Dropped dead while jogging in his early 30s.

I mean, what the hell do you do with that information, besides light up a smoke and crack open a beer?

I didn't like most of them, so I pretty much just chuckle. Actually, one of the morons I went to HS with just dropped dead this weekend of diabetes complications. Meh.

I had 3 friends die just last year. It was mostly cumulative effects from years of partying. No one died from cancer or sickness yet. Doesn't make me feel old. Makes me feel lucky.

Yeah, it was terrible. Also, when I was in elementary school, a girl in the middle school tried to cross a major highway at night and was struck and killed. The funeral had more than a thousand people in attendance.

But people from my high school who are dying of natural causes? Meh. I talk to one person from my graduating class and right now, even she's on shaky ground with me. :jj:

One classmate died of leukemia in 5th grade. The next year a classmate drowned in a park lagoon. In high school, 2 kids drowned, and 1 suicide. Life happens. The more you socialize, the more people who you know die.

It's the one reason to remain healthy. Asshole from HS complaining on the Facebook about his poor health?
