Eating healthy and exercising cure all mental illness from what I've seen
Are you Dr. Sarno?
Funny and correct. Eating right and exercise are ephemeral at best.
OP, holy fuck you're wrong. Real depression, not "oh, I'm depressed" is a living torture. Imagine a demon that lives inside every cell in your body, telling you that you're worthless and repeating it every second that ticks by. 60 times a minute. 3600 times an hour. It will not stop until you hang yourself or move a bullet through your skull. It's real.
Thats so wrong...
Beth says "wine? Did someone say wine?" She'll drink to that.
I've been depressed since Jaime Pressley told me I was slapped a yarmulke, Robin
History's greatest triumph of the human spirit is when Howard took that gun out of his mouth and decided that he was going to live.
Yeah become a body builder and get cured
I'm not sure why "claim" has quotation marks and not "depressed"
Beth was depressed because the doorman didn't respect her, Robin. I HAD to marry her.
Yes. The majority of people who claim to be depressed are weak-willed and, more often than not, they're the root cause of their own depression.
Then there are the dudes and dudettes who actually do something about their depression - like put a shotgun in their mouth. I actually believe 99.9% of those folks are really depressed. Unfortunately, by the time they prove it, it's too late to do anything about it.
And there's no good answer. Believe nobody and waste a ton of manpower scraping blood and brain fragments off the walls. Believe them all and you're left with a boy who cried wolf situation where eventually you start rooting for people to prove their depression. Realistically, people have to judge one another on a case-by-case basis and people are bound to be misread and fall through the cracks.
societal stigma creates an easy filter, psychiatrist generally assume anyone showing up at their door are ill because the stigma causes people to seek medical help generally as a last resort or by force from family and friends.
"Brain chemistry d..." in my search engine auto completes to "brain chemistry depression" and a slew of studies. The first two I glanced at noted decades of research and prevailing theories from what I think most would consider pretty credible sources.
I mean prove "hang yourself or move a bullet through your skull"
But I've experienced clinical depression so I'm not disputing it. It sucks.
Doctors have started treating long time depression sufferers with hallucinogens.
Lots of '50s & '60s stars were treated with LSD back in the day... Cary Grant, Kim Novak & I think James Stewart.
This time around psychiatrists are trying Ketamine aka "Special K".
Depression yes... but i've seen a ton of bitches claim fibromyalgia and I think they are just lazy .
