I think they stand a damn good chance because other than the Spurs and Thunder, the western conference is
full of teams no better than .500.

I hope so. I grew up watching that team, going to games when nobody would. They were so freaking terrible.

The idea of the Warriors being a championship basketball team, a model NBA organization, is astounding to see for someone who once walked up to the ticket office before the game and got two tickets 10 rows from the floor for $40, total.

Got his Niner tickets once- it was my first NFL game, in the preseason against the LA Raiders at Candlestick Park.

check scoring point totals and defensive ratings from the early 90s and the 80s. Defense was unsophisticated and generally laughable.

Better than that watch a game! It was a real eye opener for me watching a '89 Pistons game when they were the Bad Boys and by far the best defense in the league. Almost everything (strategy, training, effort) is better these days. Oh well, some people want to believe everything was better 'back then'.

I'm no LeBron hater - I LOVE his game as well as his charity work - but I'd like to see GS do it.

GS celebratory swagger (Curry twirling around with the 3 signal like he's in Blue Man group) is starting to bug me now though - as well their bratty entitlement. This, in terms of the way Draymond Green wants EVERY fucking call and is in refs faces every whistle.

I think Green is 1 tech away from the suspension rule and Steve Kerr lead ALL coaches in Ts last year and had more in one season as a coach than he did in TOTAL as a player.

They're losing me a bit now - but I'm STILL on board just enough to want them to beat Chicago's 72-10.

Its the nostalgia factor. But its not some miracle that teams regularly eclipsed 120 back in the day, things have gotten more complicated and in depth. Also double teams were so rare back in the day where as stars now get double teamed regularly and trapped.

That said, the greats of any year (except guards in the 60's really) would be great today. Russell, Chamberlain, etc. would be amongst the best players today. But the guards of the 60's lacked the size or athleticism to get a shot off and wouldn't do verl well today, but in all fairness they strictly followed rules back then too. If you put a modern player in the 60's they would be called for carrying every single time they brought the ball up the court.

Ultimately though defenses have gotten much better beginning in the very late 90's and early 2000 being amongst the best of all time.

And I think the warriors will tie/break the record unless the Spurs keep winning. As they approach the playoffs and secure home court, they will give their players a break and that could lead to surprise losses.
