I've been using a French Press for a few years and always enjoyed the delicious coffee you can get from it.

Last night I was curious to see what extra tips I could learn and found the two videos below.

The first one looks like a good method that I'll definitely try.

I followed the tips in the second video and wow, I just had a SUPER rich, CLEAN cup of coffee.

Try them and post how your coffee turned out!

pouring slow, fast, makes no difference. these guys are just affected fags. there are only three things that affect french press: the water, the coffee, and the grinder. the water needs to be good and clean. the coffee needs to be medium course ground at most 15 min before using (the aromatic oils start to oxidize or go rancid after 15 min) and the grinder should be a burr grinder. the thing he calls the bloom is the creme (any real coffee drinker wants the creme for the same reasons you want it in espresso) and why would you remove it? the only reason for removing some of the grounds is that the longer the grounds sit in the coffee the more bitter the coffee gets, but why would you let coffee sit in the press: you're supposed to be drinking it not looking at it.

Harsh, dude. The difference I observed from following the tips in the second method was that my coffee was definitely less acidic tasting, which was kinda nice. I think that had to do with removing the "bloom". I used to stir the grounds just before putting the plunger on the top of the grounds crust. These guys didn't. Not sure why. Do you stir the grounds? I think pouring the water in slower was helpful because it really saturated all the grounds more.
