Store transactions via debit/credit card, our parking meters all have credit card slots, tolls have either electronic counters or credit card readers, no more attendants. I always used to carry a pocketful of change, now I'm irritated when I end up with some in my pocket.

Yes. If you carry some change you won't get Moar after paying cash.

The guy that's always on the corner of Midway and Barnett has an iPhone6s, he'll probably be taking PayPal pretty soon.

I love change. Use it for laundry. But mostly save it. Paid for a trip to Florida for my gf last year. Now we have about two gallons of silver.

i used to own a vending company ,gumball machines and video games, and quarter pusher machines. yeah a lot of ppl still use change but its become way less and its seriously hurting the industry. i think quarter turn gumball machines (even the ones that can accept 4-8 quarters) will be gone in 10 yrs , maybe less. a few major operators like coinstar may still exist and some bigger regional ones that run the gumball racks AND video games (that can accept bills) but the gumball machines will be just 'gravy' on top of the video games biz because you just cant make a living doing that anymore

if they came out with a $1 coin and retired the $1 bill it would save the "bulk" vending machine business (gumball machines) and revitalize the whole vending biz

I have all of my change in a 5 gallon carboy in my office. I'm waiting for it to break through my floor. So I can use all of the change I accumulated to pay for the repair. The only reason change still exists is to pay sales tax... crazy....

That's a good point, not usually having change, I can always tell my kids we can't get gum or whatever at the vending machines.
