Virtually every couple I've known that freely admitted to seeing a Couples/Marriage counselor, went on to get divorced............ I have yet to meet anyone who said they sought counseling years ago, and it rekindled their marriage ...

Seems like when most people are done with something, they're done with it ... No amount of therapy can reel the old feelings back in :(

Marriage counseling can work, but only if both parties are committed to making the marriage work and no major lines (like affairs) have been crossed.

Yeah I think if some 3rd party has to tell you how to communicate with your spouse, you're fucked.

Can it work if cuckolding has taken place?

Yep...most couples dont see a counselor until its too late. And even so, i dont think the therapist will really help in any circumstances - maybe if you go before you got married/involved and thought a little about how our brains worked it would generally help overall...but as far as going to "fix a problem"? Probably not.

After a number of years, a marriage is more of a business relationship than a love relationship. That is, you want to stay together to keep your financial life growing and not lose half your shit. You can still love your spouse, but it is in a different way than when you were newlyweds.

I would wager that most couples in a cuckolding situation never see a therapist and stay married.

I've always been fascinated with couples that do that ... Go talk to a guy whose never been married or had sex (supposedly, anyway) about your problems with marriage and/or your sexual relationship ...... That's like going to your auto mechanic about your nagging cough

I think it's better to try marriage counseling than nothing at all. I don't know if it would have saved my marriage, since my ex-wife was a self-absorbed whore, but I suppose it could work for other marriages

The therapist usually sides with someone then the other person is f'd.
