I didn't want to bother the queen of all things dogs. I do have some questions. I feel like I am around some dog lovers her so I won't be made fun of.
Many we can leave this thread as a helpful tip page. I am always open to learning new things.

My dilemma, my Jack Russell is almost 13. She has been hating her food. She actually turns her bowl upside down, then puts her placemat on top of it. I get itt...you hate your food. I have been feeding her ceser wet food. It was easy and did not make me gag. Now it makes her gag. I looked it up. Out of a five point rating, it had one. Gross. So I bought Dot the dog organic food today. She just puked it all up. She never does that. Even with a food change. What do you guys feed your dog that's healthy?

    best case scenario:
food changes should be done gradually... you should try mixing the new food with the old food and transitioning that way if possible.

    worst case scenario:
considering the age of your dog and the unexpected loss of appetite and vomiting, i'd take her to the vet ASAP. my poor dog lost his appetite shortly before he had to be put down. turns out he was very ill. :( anytime an animal stops eating it's a sign to take them straight to the vet.

not trying to upset you, but it's better to be safe than sorry. if there is something wrong and you catch it in time, you'll be glad you were overly cautious. if you go to the vet and they find nothing, then at least you can take it from there.

    good luck.

I am sorry I should have mention she begs for people food and scarfs it up. She's almost as fat as Bianca. I try not to give her people food.my husband travels, so he spoils her. Now she's back to not eating dog food. She will eat a can of tuna and do a backflip in happiness. Tuna can't be worse then animal piece dog food.

She was just at vet. I found several lumps on her. Freaked out drove like a crazy person and said you must see her now. Turns out they are called fatty warts. Lovely. Nothing you can do. Doc says some dogs just get lumpy in their old age.

    No joke

My JRTs get cut up boneless chicken breast for dinner ever night.

They really like Vegetables, mostly lettuce.

They snack a little here and there on dry dog food during the day if they want it.

My older dogs went through this. Please take her to the vet just to rule out health concerns. Also, giving her human food just to give her calories isn't the best thing to do in the long run. Dogs can go a long time without food but not water and if they are healthy, they will eventually eat. It really sounds like she needs to be evaluated and put on a diet regime. It is true, you can feed skinless chicken over rice to dogs that aren't eating well if they are sick and it may encourage them to eat. The problem is, they will be conditioned to not eat their regular food if you do this too much. Going to the vet for assistance is really the best thing though.
