If you could only pick one or the other for a pet, would you pick a dog or a cat? I'm torn here. I love how loyal dogs are to their owners. They really wear their emotions on their sleeves. Cats, on the other hand, are usually aloof and don't give a shit about you unless they need you for something or if you have something they want. But dogs are higher maintenance. Dogs need to be walked. I don't know how many times I've looked out my window on frigid January or February mornings and watched some poor slob walking a dog in the blasting cold and trying to get over snow drifts, all for the honor of picking up their dog's shit and carrying it around. Cats, on the other hand, need little maintenance. Give them a litter box and some privacy (cats often won't pee or shit if you're watching them) and they're good to go. No walking outside or picking up shit. If I could toilet train a dog, that would be best. Your thoughts?
