1989 MTV Video Music Award for Best Male Video
Didn't watch the video. Love the song.
Depends how old you were when this came out. If you were a hormonally charged teen who liked hair metal then definitely GAY. Looking back now its good.
I like it....brings me back to a sad time in my life. Love NY Minute......
Ooooo oooo ooo
It was a good song. I wonder how many of these songs would have made it without MTV to show a graphic. Number one songs changed almost weekly after MTV started. Before that and even now a song could be there for weeks.
Great song by a very bitter and angry man.
Love Henley's solo work!!!
(Most solo stuff blows, imo.)
Well, it wasn't fair that the brains of the operations had to sit in the back while Timothy B Schmit got to stand up front and get all the pussy.
Is he? Why's that? Talented, good looking, rich.....what's the fucking problem Don?
Like Don and the Eagles but this song never did it for me. Reminded me of Mike & the Mechanics/Bruce Hornsby and I can't stand them.
That's because Hornsby co-wrote it and plays on it. Henley does tell a good story about stealing the beat for Boys of Summer from Pat Benetar's Love is a Battlefield.
Just by his interviews, at times, he comes across as anti-Govt anti-Establishment anti-Pop Culture anti-Military anti-Big Money ect...
But he is or was the co-leader/founder of a billion dollar music group/foundation/corporation and he lives a very high lifestyle.
I don't fault him for his amazing and well deserved success.
He is just very hyper hypocritical to rage against the machine (as it were) while profiteering off most of wut you seem to rant against in a lot of your music.
Yeah, I like Last Worthless Evening better than this.
The song Boys of Summer makes me cry every single time.
And I like the Heart of the Matter. Thank you!
Great song but it was a source of many tears during my painful divorce. Little did I know, soon after the divorce I would proceed to fuck many chicks like a madman.
I have Actual Miles Don Henley's Greatest on my iPod.
After the boys of summer have gone...
How dare U sir!
