Howard related because its against NSAL:

If youre thinking about donating to an animal charity, please buy gift cards from a local Pet Smart or Pet depot and donate those instead of cash. Any shelter will happily take them. And they cannot be used for fancy parties for upper class assholes to pose with only the cutest pure bred puppies and kittens.Or better yet, donate time if you love helping animals and playing and taking care of them. This kitten season was very bad and there are so many shelters overrun with these little ones and need help. My GF and I have 2 cats and 5 dogs and we just dont have the room right now to get more or we would. So we bought a $500 gift card from Pet Smart and donated to an animal shelter in Smithtown NY. I felt so bad for all of those cats and dogs.
NSAL won't take gift cards. No, they only take cash donations. They actually flat out refused them from us about 3 years ago before I knew what a scam they were. And you know where that cash goes. To the parties and the $300k salary of the director. Fuck that place and fuck the celebrity happy faces they paint on their fake, rip off, puppy mill stealing charity.
Sorry for the rant, just felt horrible today. Especially after seeing those beff and cat pictures. Bunch of con artists.

Amen to that. Screw those fake charities and people. So many better ones out there that really help.

The part about how NSAL only takes cash and won't accept gift cards.

One thing to remember when dealing with Howard and Beth Stern. Everything they are involved in is to benefit them. So giving to charities and causes supported by Howard and Beth mean you are ultimately helping them and maybe not the charity.

What are the odds that Beff-o has ever rolled up her sleeves and done manual labor at NSAL? Can you imagine her scooping shit, hosing out cages, scrubbing water bowls?

Yeah, more likely is Wiggy getting a hummer from her tonight. And that ain't happening either.

Charity - What celebrities do in public. You can also donate your time at animoe shelters and donate bags of pet food.

Beth Stern hosted the Gold Coast Affair Celebration benefiting the North Shore Animal League on July 18, 2013. Held at Prime Restaurant in Huntington, guests enjoyed sushi while mingling with owner Michael Bohlson. Stern signed copies of her new book, Oh My Dog, and took photos with guests.

The money made off this CUNTS vanity project didn't go to helping animals i bet
The books release date was 3 years ago

All the shelters in my area have gift cards on their "wish list". Any charity that spends most of their donations on animal care would be happy to get them.

I wonder how big Beth's salary is. What a scam.

I guess for her, at least it looks better than that one time she came in to peddle some magazine gift subscriptions or something like that. That was so tacky and desperate and odd. It was the low point of the stern show for me at the time. But Howard manages to keep setting new lows.

What a great idea. I never even thought about that. I often donate goods along with $ but gift cards are a great idea!!

Pet food is good too, but sometimes the animoes have different allergies or special diet needs. With gift cards the shelters can buy anything they would require for the little guys. ANIMOES!

    Wonderful thread. Great idea.

I always donate clean towels and food to local shelters and pet stores that have drop off boxes.

I tend to donate to the animal rescue organizations because they operate on a smaller scale. I like these guys lately:

    http://www.rescueink.org/

    (1) because they're in NY, (2) because they specialize in abused animals, and (3) I like their methods in dealing with people who abuse animals.

    That's awesome :)

Yep, the guy at NSAL would not take them and there are signs in the office that say
"cash donations only please, checks over $2000 must be bank certified". I felt like a jackass standing there with gift cards and this guy pretty much telling me it wasnt good enough.
