Remember a few years ago when he was always getting arrested for dui and was often naked at the time too? Randy Travis Hospitalized: Country Singer Reportedly In Critical Condition Randy Travis has been hospitalized after suffering from heart complications stemming from viral cardiomyopathy, according to his rep. TMZ is reporting that the 54-year-old country singer was admitted to a hospital in Texas yesterday (July 7) and is currently in critical condition. In a statement to the Dallas Morning News, his PR firm says, “The Grammy winner is suffering from complications of recently acquired viral cardiomyopathy. Travis was admitted into the medical facility yesterday." According to the Mayo Clinic, cardiomyopathy is a "disease that weakens and enlarges your heart muscle" and can lead to heart failure. Travis was recently nominated for a 2013 CMT Award for his collaboration with The Avett Brothers on "Three Wooden Crosses." He is also known for his singles "Forever and Ever, Amen," and "Honky Tonk Moon." But Travis made headlines this past year for something other than his music career -- the country star plead guilty to driving while intoxicated in a case that began last August when he crashed his Pontiac Trans Am. He received two years of probation, a $2,000 fine and a 180-day suspended jail sentence.
