So I have this Dyson D16 that I bought about 3 or so years ago, it stays on the charger all the time, I use it for spot cleaning around the house so it runs about a half hour a week or so total. The problem is that the 3 LED lights indicate that the unit is fully charged, but upon using even for a few seconds it cuts out and show just one LED that is red indicating that the battery is dead. I called their customer service this morning, and the tech confirmed that I have a bad battery issue, but was more than willing to sell me a new battery for $80 along with a few bucks for shipping. I did not do that as I figured a new unit is about a little more than twice that cost. So this evening I google Dyson D16 and I find that this is a common problem with the D16 batteries. Some customer service, just wait until I call again tomorrow and inform them that I have a pal in the vacuum business, and that I know of their trying to sweep this issue under the proverbial rug.
