I'm sick of buying $15-20 ear buds at the drug store because they usually die in 6-8 weeks. Is it smart to spend $100 or more on a "good" pair? Do those even work for the long haul or do they die just as quickly? And I don't want to hear about refunds on the $100+ pairs unless the process is as painless as a wet dream. Does anyone have experience here? Your thoughts Boschetti...

You can get the cheaper variety that you've been buying at monoprice for like 3-10 bucks.

Yes, spend the extra money. What's your budget? Apple or Android? Mostly to listen to music, podcasts, the occasional HSS live show, etc., or listening and a lot of talking?

My preference is for wired rather than wireless because the sound quality is better and the mics on the Bluetooth headsets pick up every ambient sound and kill the listener with all the noise.

If your budget is $100, there are quite a few options, and I'm sure you can find one that will fit your needs.

I want a pair that I won't need to replace 4-6 times a year. I'd be willing to go up to $100 for the right pair. I listen to music and podcasts about 50/50, I'd like to have great sound quality but I would give a little on the sound quality to have more durability.

I have the jay birds posted. They are great truly sweat proof. 12-15 miles running and few gym workouts a week....almost on the 1 year mark. Would buy again.

I am absolutely merciless on earbuds. I don't feel like I deserve "good" headphones since I mostly only play podcasts and streaming video from my iphone. I'm more comfortable buying the five dollar ones from Big Lots three pairs at a time.
