    eBay BLOWS!!!! UPDATE!!!

So I go to list a somewhat rare/expensive bass guitar on eBay and after spending a bit of time getting good pics and crafting a good description I'm not allowed to list it because the reserve/BIN are over my "monthly sellers limit" ($5K). WTF kinda bullshit is that? My feedback and history are fine. I've spent more than that buying/selling before and now it's an issue. Assholes and their policy changes!

Whoa. I didn't know that. I have a bunch of guitars and amps I want to list soon.

I haven't used ebay in a couple years to sell..

They probably sent some gibberish email about it that I shitcanned without reading so it may be my fault that I didn't know about it but that doesn't mean that they blow any less for the policy.

If there was a god I would hope that more important things would be a priority.

Besides I can sound like shit on any bass I play......might as well sell the awesome one to payoff some recent heinous vet bills and house log replacement.

I will say that is a matter of taste but certainly the popular choice. Geddy Lee is AWESOME.....just not my style.

Claypool or Steve Harris > Geddy Lee

I also prefer Lemmy's soothing vocals over Geddy's shrill dungeons and dragons crooning. :cheer:

Are they trying to get you to be some kind of commercial account or something? That doesn't make sense that they turn down business.

I've never sold anything on there, but I've bought a lot of stuff. I'm not being sarcastic: I would try to contact them phone or email, and ask them WTF? Also, is it eBay hassling you, or PayPal?

Im not sure what their angle is. I can call them to try and get it increased......I can't imagine that's a smooth process.

I wonder too that if I had started the auction at $0.99 with no reserve/BIN would they have stopped the auction at $5k? That would have been ponderous.

I may list it on Craigslist as suggested but I've had little luck selling higher priced musical gear there.

I'm not being "hassled" they (ebay) just bounced my listing. I'll call but from what I've gathered from some quick Google searches not many have had luck with 'em. Most of what I read involved people selling a shitload of cheaper items......maybe my case will be different since it's one big ticket item.

I'm primarily a buyer as well but I've been there a long time and my feedback is great. Ultimately if I can't get this thing sold at a price I want I won't be heartbroken but it would make my life a bit easier.

If I had money to burn, I would but a Billy Gibbons Signature Les Paul, and the very rare Neil Young Signature Les Paul....and about a dozen Lemonburst '59 Les Pauls.....
