James Franco.....worst actor ever? What does it say about a movie when Eminem is the best actor in a 3 minute clip?
The only time i liked Franco was when he was playing a pretentious, overrated twat in "This is the End".
James Franco relies too heavily on homosexual innuendos and metrosexual mannerisms to be funny. If that is naturally how you come off, then so be it, but his closet queer act comes off as forced shtick overcompensating for not being able to bring anything else to the table. Rogen writes a pretty good bro story, though. I enjoyed the movie (Interview) overall and I re watched Pineapple Express the other night and still had some laughs. However, Rogen could replace James Franco with Ashton Kutcher and still have a hit on his hands. As another poster said in the Interview thread (sorry forgot who), i'll take a Seth Rogen movie over Judd Apatow faggotry all day.
Chicks want to suck his cock inside out, that's all that matters. Put him in a movie and the sluts will pay to see it.
I agree with you about the Seth/Evan over Apatow except Ashton Kutcher cannot fill Franco's shoes. I think Evan Goldberg writes these Franco characters to ball bust and celebrate Franco's personality quirks like dudes do. I think it translates well for guy comedy unlike Apatow's writing, though Apatow does dialogue on the level of Elmore Leanord. I like Franco in this movie. He's playing a Ryan Seacrest/Dennis Rodman type character and I thought he played it perfectly. The wrench that gets thrown to a Franco or Kutchin good looking leading man actor is Seth Rogan. And Franco unselfishly compensates (with the goofy and gay & self deprecating schtick) for having Seth Rogan being the real leading man, where actors like Ashton wouldn't. Let's face it, Seth Rogan is defying the Steve Guttenberg Syndrome. Movie audiences don't want jewish leading men if they are over 24. I think Franco is getting a bad wrap for his job here as a comedy foil to Seth and I think the movie was funny and well done. The context of the Eminem bit was if Korea launched missiles and that was the leading news story, it would be trumped by Eminem coming out.
Just watched it again yesterday and fucking loved it. I'm a rogan and Franco fan. Ever since freaks and geeks.
