According to the Los Angeles Times:

CBS plans to sell one of its legacy brands: CBS Radio.

"We will begin to explore strategic options," CBS Chairman and Chief Executive Leslie Moonves announced Tuesday during the company's investor day. "We will be prudent and judicious. We will take our time to make sure that we do it right."

The move represents a recognition that terrestrial radio is no longer a growth industry, particularly as major advertisers shift their spending to digital platforms.

However, the proposed sale is hugely symbolic because the broadcasting company was built on the back of its TV and radio stations, which have adapted and thrived over the decades as consumption patterns changed.

CBS Radio, launched in 1928, also represents one of the largest radio station groups in the nation, reaching an estimated 70 million consumers nationwide each week, according to the company's website.

The division owns and operates 117 radio stations in 26 markets, including six stations in Los Angeles, including KNX-AM 1070 and KCBS-FM 93.1.

"You know Robin, I invented CBS Radio. And now a word from Squatty Potty."

Sports talk radio saved terrestrial radio. All it is is now is boring right wing politics and the same tired old rock songs from 30+ years ago. Sports on terrestrial radio is the only thing thats tolerable. The rock radio programmers have to be some of the dumbest schmucks on the planet. Same tired old Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd songs. No wonder the genre died. My local rock station doesnt even play Bruce Springsteen, he gets played on the "oldies station" only the oldies station is now 70s and 80s music.

Is Howard taking credit for this like he did when NBC's radio division disappeared?

Yeah, but the point is that Limbaugh almost single-handedly saved AM radio in the late 1980s.

Where is all of the new Rock music on Terrestrial radio? Even the "active Rock" station here plays the same old tired shit from the 90's you've heard a million times. People into Hip Hop and Rap are fickle, and can't get the dirty versions of their music on regular radio anyways, so they aren't listening, in the south there's 6 "country" stations playing the same 12 songs over and over, and the Rock stations offer nothing new at all. Then they wonder why it's a dying medium. it's mind boggling, it's the most accessible medium there is, every car in America has one, and yet it's stuck in the past and unwilling to adapt.

Radio failed to keep up with the times. They provided us with safe and inoffensive content the last decade and a half or so. 4-5 hits stations not that different from each other and the oldies rock stations.

Hasn't he been gone from KROCK for at least twelve years? Howard does have trouble counting.
