    Chase is doing the same with my mother and myself regarding mixing up accounts - and we have different first names! If I didn't have mobile alerts set up for any withdrawals, I wouldn't have realized it. Always set up alerts!!

    Most people don't hand this information over "all the time", but maybe once or twice a year. And tellers most definitely do not have access to this information. Credit card offers don't mean squat - if someone takes one from your mailbox, it does nothing to help them get the card in your name.

    But even if what you wrote was completely true, it doesn't excuse Equifax at all. The scale of this breach is unprecedented. I think (and hope) this will be fatal for them as a company - it deserves to be. Companies don't take privacy seriously, and it's because they never truly suffer for it.
