ESPN started going downhill when they started becoming a news channel more than a sports channel.

Bring back the old days of putt-putt championship and Aussie Rules Football and get rid of inflammatory blowhards

A "sports" article in The New Yorker. :jj:

Maybe people just don't want to listen to shitty announcing?

The reality is when you inject politics into sports, you just piss off half the viewers, no matter what you say. Just shut the fuck up. And talk about the game.

As Michael Jordan used to say when asked to be involved in liberal causes "Republicans buy sneakers too".

    Absolutely.
This new SC6 show is atrocious.
Classic Sportscenter was the last show they had I would watch consistently.

Or let's take another angle that has nothing to do with race and everything to do with more and more people ditching cable meaning less money from advertisers and espn no longer able to demand high fees from cable providers. Nah it's because some of their broadcasters are brown.

The cord cutting has lots to do with it, no doubt. But a main reason for many people cutting the cord is the obscene piece of the pie that ESPN takes.

ESPN should be the best in the world at broadcasting sporting events. And they do nothing but regress in that regard.

Add in the loudmouths, puff pieces, SJW'ing and you have a product that not many people want

If you're trying to say that the race of the commentators is why people have a problem with ESPN lately, you're totally wrong

Got nothing to do with the Twatter-In-Chief.

Has everything to do with the fact that ESPN stopped showing live sporting events and instead filled airtime with talking heads.

The same thing happened to the cable news business.

That Bomani Jones is driving me crazy. He claims that Kapernick isn't getting hired because of racism. I just don't see how that could be possible. At least none of his arguments make sense to me. He says that the fact that 80% of the players are black doesn't matter. It does. What about the teams that hire black players guilty of animal cruelty, DUI felony death, whatever it was that Lawrence Taylor did, etc. I just can't get around racism in this case.
