ESPN the Magazine recently released their ninth annual Ultimate Standings, and the Memphis Grizzlies ranked No. 9 overall of all 122 teams in the major four professional sports leagues in North America.

The Grizzlies finished No. 1 overall in their rankings in two categories, including the hottest teams in all of sports and as the franchise that provided the best bang for the buck for their fans.

The Grizzlies were the second highest jumper on the list this year, climbing 66 spots from last season, trailing only the Tampa Bay Lighting who moved from the No. 70 spot to the No. 2 spot this year as the highest chart climber in the Ultimate Standings.
Amongst NBA teams, the Grizzlies only trailed the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Ultimate Standings.

The Ultimate Standings rank NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL franchises according to how much they give back to fans for the time money and emotion they invest in them.
These rankings combine fan perspective with an objective measure of how well teams turn fan dollars into wins.

Reminds of when the Giants were playing the Pack in the playoffs. Robin Quivers read it in her news then exclaimed "football isn't even big in Green Bay".

The town is small, only 104k. The state only has 5 million, most being close to the Illinois border and far from Green Bay yet they are rabid as fans. Sell out every game. If you live in Green Bay you actually own part of the team. Amazing concept really.

coming in at #116 are the Toronto Raptors. this is funny cause a few of us were talking this weekend about how its time for the Raptors to leave town. i brought up the success of the Grizzlies after leaving Vancouver, and everyone was all like "yep, you're right as usual"
