Is it safe?
My bro inlaw bought one...he should have known better...not the sellers fault, my bro inlaw made a bad choice.
I bought two and got excellent deals. One was a dealer and one was a private sale
Yes. And two I found on Craigslist.
I've had fine experiences with all. The first one the guy was in Jersey so I was able to go look at it before the final bid. Though I never made it and bought it anyway.
yup. all good.
My pops bought and sold on ebay its legit. Plus paypal protects your ass. Be smart though, call and talk to someone then get something in writing, like an email or something stating the car is in good shape, just incase.
I just upped my max bid after reading this. Expect an invoice if I end up with a lemon.
Word. Thanks, clutch.
Post the link--I want to see it
I've bought two commercial trucks on there, but they were close enough to me that I could go and inspect them before bidding.
I bought a Ford Taurus on there for my cousin when her car died on her. Didn't bother going to inspect that one, but luckily, there were no major problems with it.
She still actually has it. Been about 3 years now.
Not an everyday ride. Just a toy.
You can hire a mechanic remotely that will take photos and give you a complete report before buying:
Watcha' bidding on??!
That's awesome. Thanks!
But who is to say that the seller doesn't throw the guy a hundo to have write the report in his favor.

plus check kbb.com for vehicle value info
Those 4.0 liter straight sixes last forever. It's pretty normal to get well over 200k miles out of them before a rebuild.
If he needed a rebuild, he was either real rough on it or it has a ridiculous amount of mileage on it.
An old Wrangler. Post 12
I guess it is always possible, but check what that website says. I think the mechanics have to meet certain standards to get to work with the site, and they would risk getting ongoing work if they started being assholes. I think they may have liability issues as well.
They've bid my three-wheeler above my reserve price!
