I'm an Excel novice. I have a spreadsheet with 2249 rows x 4 columns of data.

Even at 8 point text, printing all this out will take 39 pages.

How can I print this out to create 2 columns on each sheet?
For example: on sheet 1, rows 1-50 of the 4 columns will print on the left side, rows 51-100 of the 4 columns will print on the right side. Sheet 2 will have rows 101-150 on the left, 151-200 on the right. And so on...

Get some scissors and glue. Cut them out and glue side by side.

It's been awhile since I've done any Excel formatting but i think you use the page layout tab and then selection pane to move your cells.

No idea how to do it on Excel, but check out a FinePrint. It lets you print up to 4 pages on one. Saves a ton of paper. I think they have a free trial version.

it sounds like you have your page setup set to 132 columns instead of 80.

You're going to need some pliers and a set of 30 weight ball bearings.

You got it. I've got it prepared with some 3-in-one oil and gauze pads.

move the lower portions of the columns over to the right and fill the page that way.

you should be able to get several sets of columns that way, which will decrease the number of pages.

That would work if I just want to print without regard to formatting or future work in the spreadsheet. Moving the cells over will prevent me from still being able to sort the data as a whole.

Have you tried plotting to a PDF at 8.5x11 first? That way you can see for sure how the prints will turn out, then from that pdf if it worked right, just make your prints. That has worked for me in the past.

Edit: make sure your settings are set to Print to Screen when you use 8.5x11 or whatever paper size you're using.
