That's what RUINED the Show for me...and for alot of LOYAL fans for the past 30yrs....
and the last 6yrs on Sirius !!

When I used to just LISTEN to the show....never knew about the SFN....Howard actually turned me on to the SFN!!
Remember when he USED TO TALK ABOUT THE SFN EVERY FUCKING DAY????
EVERY Monday Morning??? "I was on the SFN all weekend" :rolleye:
after vacations..."I was on the SFN all vacation" :rolleye:
"I saw this or read that on the SFN"!!!!

(we NEVER heard "Did you HEAR THE WRAP UP SHOW???) :rolleye:
it was all about the fans on the SFN!
    That was on Terrestrial....

.....as soon as the show moved to Satellite...all of a sudden Howard was ANTI- SFN and his fans were all Mean Haters!!!! He hated us!!

because "we were on to him"...and the show....

"Familiarity Breeds Contempt".....and that applys to just about everyone who works on the show too!!
Sounds like they all hate each other....

.....and it's no secret that MANY of the staff INCLUDING Sal & Benjy who lifted most of our thoughts and ideas from the SFN for CONTENT are NOW here on this site inciting and posting (venting their contempt for Howard ) !!

It's like "family"....you love them but HATE them ...can't STAND them but tolerate them.....
when I listen to Jon Hein talking to Sam Simon??? OMG the CONTEMPT in his voice ..the jealousy and hate he feels .....
    same goes for Tim Sabean....
he was always on the SFN .....it's where he got his "fan feedback" from..
    now it's from Twitter?? :rolleye:

So maybe these Howard Stern Show message boards have RUINED the show for us all....we tend to find fault with just about EVERYTHING on the show....
    it's so fake....
so phony and scripted....so contrived and predictable....
the same show day after day....3 RUSHED Days filled with the same bits over and over and over again...
Monday....Howard actually goes BACK TO THE LAST WEDS to replay WRAP UP SHOW clips....(last week he went back to VACATION week!!!)
    AGT ...AGT...AGT....
Tues....pretty much the same...WRAP UP SHOW WRAP UP SHOW
    WEds....HOwardTV Howard TV HowardTV

    It's sheer torture...
    so familiar with the routine.....
no more " We wonder what Howard will say NEXT!!!"
because we ALREADY KNOW WHAT HE"S GOING TO SAY!!!

"Robin did you hear JD on the WRAP UP SHOW????" "here let me play u a clip from LAST WEEKS WRAP UP SHOW" :rolleye:

"Familiarity Breeds Contempt"....and that's what RUINED the SHOW for mE!!

    thank you

    peace & love

You seem to have made more of a case against repetition than against familiarity.

The old (90's) shows were very intimate, and I felt great familiarity. But now, with two or three days of a lazy show filling up seven days of a *whole channel*, 24/7... I'm already sick of a bit by the third listen, and its only Thursday.

    EDIT: Phone typo. Goddamn autocorrect.

No Howard ruined his show by taking so much time off, becoming so out of touch with his fan base and not caring about them. He only cares about the money, not about his show or his reputation. He's right about radio being a habitual medium but when he found a company to sucker he forgot about that. He's also lazy and cheap with his staff and with the retards that call in whom he could easily give $500 to and it's like us giving then 25 cents. He won't do show meetings for content. He won't spend money to hire a comedian for the 3rd mic. and he's a fancy Hamptons/Hollywood star fucker snob.

I'm sure there more, but there is nothing good about him or his show anymore, the best thing about his show is that there is less of it, and since he's almost never on you don't miss him when he's on vacations killing celebrities.

I like the line..."We ALREADY KNOW WHAT HE'S GOING TO SAY NEXT!!"
    It's actually quite profound

I don't think it's familiarity breeding contemp as much as baiting and switching has. Doesn't help that he's doing everything Imus did.

Howards show depends on the following:

    1. Ability to connect to the blue collar worker. Howard no longer has this talent due to his 3/4 billion $ deal with Sirius combined with his childish "I'll show them" demeaner that's been hidden all these years. Hard to listen to someone whine that works 3 days a week and not only doesn't bother showing up 12 weeks a year, but purposefully misleads you as to whether or not he's live the following Monday.

    2. Guests, bits, contests, sponsors. These are all gone due to a complete lack of effort on Howard's part.

    3. A leader. Howard is a good worker, but a completly shitty manager/boss. He needs someone talented in the drivers seat to guide him away from project failures like "porkys 2"

    4. Current events. Howard needs to be current. People used to want to hear his opinion about what's going on in the world. We listened for the content, not for the person providing the content. We're not going to wait until Monday to hear howies touts on something that happened Wednesday after 10 am. If you want us to care, work 5 days a week.

    5. Value. It was easier on terrestrial. Radio is free. You must pay for satellite. Not worth the money
