    some interesting findings...after 16-24 hours of a fast, your body starts to eat up damaged proteins, diseased cells, scar tissue, etc.

    a japanese scientist just got the nobel prize in medicine for his research on autophagy. its been shown to be effective against diabetes, parkinsons, etc.
