Since it's the thirty days of Oscar on TCM and I see a bunch of posters are into classic films, I thought it would be fun to talk about our fave oldies but greaties.
I have so many I love. I can't pick just one..

Last night I watched The Best Years Of Our Lives...Great flick about three men returning from war and adjusting to being back home. Usually these kind of movies were just Rah Rah stuff. This showed a realistic view of homecomings.

True Grit has always been one of my favorites. That Lucky Ned Pepper made me so mad.

Laura is one of my faves as well.

Great early film noir. Loved Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney..

Cool Hand Luke. Another gem in my mind.

I could never figure out if he be dead in the end or just wounded.

He was dying. He knew he was not going back to that place..

A great old movie was I Was A Fugitive From A Chain Gang. It was made in the thirties and was really gritty. It was pretty equal to Cool Hand Luke, but in black and white.

War movies are not my fave but
All Quiet On The Western Front was great. It was made in 1930, but so relevant (unlike Howie) today. I cry my eyes out..It does not hide how brutal war is...
