BRINGIN' IT ALL BACK HOME - HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED - BLONDE ON BLONDE: Speed Freak Trillogy
Dylan was actually doing a heroin-speed mix during this era ...especially during the Euro tour of 1966.
It's all been written in the book -when it's too much of nothing, nobody should look.
i dont rly kno any of his other albums
cept THE FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN
but i dont rly like it
Not one of my favorites either.
I always felt his protest shit was overrated but 5 million Elvis fans can't be wrong...
I like Dylan's first album a lot more. And I also like the last "folk" album, ANOTHER SIDE OF BOB DYLAN.
Hell -I like almost all of his stuff.
Even SELF PORTRAIT.
Dylan on drugs Euro tour 1966:
I like all 3 LPs of the trilogy. Besides that maybe Another Side of Dylan, Freewheelin' & Blood on the Tracks are also great.
There's a book out by a Dylan expert (Clinton Heylin) whom I don't like all that much but this particular book -it's really a must-have for fans of Dylan's music.
It's called BEHIND THE SHADES and it features interviews and the history behind the recordings of all of Dylan's albums from 1962 to 1990.
The stuff on the BLOOD sessions will curl your hair... Dylan was really full of venom towards his ex-wife Sara at the time of the recording.
Pretty startling stuff to read.
Best book in general about Dylan is by Ratso Sloman -ON THE ROAD WITH BOB DYLAN. Buy it when you can get it for under $4.
