2600? Easy, Pitfall 2: Lost Caverns. Other than the same shit music loop, it has all the fun of the original plus you get to save the chick, rescue a pet lion and push a rat into the river. And you don't need a cheat sheet to beat it.

NES? Contra was the most fun, personally. But overall? Legend of Zelda. SMB was good but all of them dragged on for me after about an hour...

I got TONS of them. Been playing video games since the NES days. Metroid and Kid Icarus were my favorites, as were the old school Final Fantasies.

But the one that stands out for me more than anything else is actually a game Im playing now:

    DOOM.

There's a program called ZDOOM that lets you play Doom at much higher resolution (and on windows). I still have the original files (I moved recently and found them :D ) and I managed to get it to work. Fun Times.

My favorite game was Colecovision Time Pilot. Colecovision was the shit back in the day with an almost arcade perfect port of Donkey Kong. I still remember when I got it for Christmas and hooked it up to our old Zenith tv.

Depends on what's considered "old school" I guess. I grew up with the SNES and played the ports of original Mario trilogy on there. Also Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2, Yoshi's Island, too many to list. For Genesis, you can't go wrong with the Sonic games. I got an original NES recently too and have a few games for it.

SNES was awesome. Had some of the best RPGS ever. FF IV and VI were great, and Chrono Trigger was one of the best RPGs ever made. (Btw, ever play Chrono Cross?) It feels so weird to say Im an old school gamer though. Been there since the NES days.

It's not very old school, but I still love playing Ocarina of Time.
