In the 60's my father took us to Forbes Field to see the pirates play. We sat first row by first base. Roberto Clemente grounded out to short. When he crossed first base he said "Oh shit!" I found out, even your heroes can have a bad day.

Wrigley Field 1972... I was 8... Cubs vs. Reds.

I had been watching on WGN since I was 6 years old and had never been to a game. We went with a church group. When I walked up the tunnel and saw the field for the first time in person it was surreal. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it again. Can't remember a single play or who won, but still remember that moment.

Reggie Jackson tossed me an autographed baseball when I was 7 years old. Still have it today.

1987 FIFA Cricket World Cup Championship in Bengal.

Abu Drahman pitched a doozy, with only 87 runs elapsed over four days. The crowd of 825 went wild when two of the bowlers cashed in four poppies each, limiting the rounders to only 60 that fateful day.

In 1971, I attended my first Ohio State Buckeye football game in the greatest sports venue in the world, Ohio Stadium. Back then, it was a much truer horseshoe, and only held around 82,000 (25,000 fewer than today), so tickets were much tougher to come by. I don't even remember who they played, but sitting behind the OSU bench and seeing Woody Fucking Hayes in person was an awesome experience for ten year old me!

My father took me to a game between the Giants and Expos, I forget what year. Early 70s. Willie McCovey hit a grand slam that travelled about 4 miles.

1973, day camp trip to Shea Stadium to see the Mets play the Astros. Our seats were near the top of the upper deck. We arrived in the bottom of the second. The first batter I ever saw in real life was Mets catcher Jerry Grote. He grounded out to second. We left in the sixth. Remember it like today.

On TV: 1986 World Series while rooting for the Red Sox to defeat the heavily coked up Mets. It didn't happen that way of course.
In person: 1990 Angels vs. Red Sox in Anaheim,
