First picture of the sun by NASA's nuclear telescope

    X-rays stream off the sun in this image showing observations from by NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR, overlaid on a picture taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). This is the first picture of the sun taken by NuSTAR. The field of view covers the west limb of the sun.

    My wife and I lived in an apartment for a couple years while planning and then building our house. The identical thing happened to me the first morning when the sun rose over the hills in the east and shot right through a crack in the shade and right in my eye. I had to stand a piece of cardboard in the corner of the window for the duration of living there.
