I posted this on that other site, but I figured it was more suited for here. I liken the stages of being a Howard Stern fan being like a person dealing with the death of family member. There are five stages in deal with death and I think there are five stages of being a Stern fan: Stage #1 - You are a die hard and you believe all the shit Howard says and think everything he does is genius. You talk about him with you buddies and co-workers and will watch him no matter what he is on whether it is Letterman or AGT. Howard never makes an appearance that isn't newsworthy. Stage #2 - You admit the show isn't as good as it used to be, but it still the best thing on radio. Hey, Tradio calls aren't Jackie Puppet bits, but they are still hilarious. Stage #3 - You admit show really has gone down in quality, but Howard evolved. You defend his evolution to haters, but you are a casual listener. You rationalize it that Howard is 60 and he can't be the same guy when he was 40 and if someone can't handle it, it is something wrong with them - not Howard. Stage #4 - You start to realize how fake the show is and how full of shit Howard is and aren't willing to listen to the shit anymore. David Arquette is on again? Does Howard have any non-famous friends? I thought Beth didn't want to be famous? Shuli and Scott are still fighting over Scott's cut of the Block Parties even though Scott quit the Block Parties over a year ago? Stage #5 - You realize the show and Howard has become a farce and you find out it is more fun to make fun of how ridiculous he has become than actually listen to the show.
