WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A Florida man is back in jail after clicking "like" on a Facebook photo posted by a witness in a case against him.

The SunSentinel reported that West Palm Beach judge Krista Marx revoked Paul Maida Jr.'s bond Wednesday, saying he violated a court order to avoid any contact with his ex-girlfriend Bianca Fichtel by liking a photo on her Facebook page earlier this month.

Assistant State Attorney Laura Laurie says Fichtel is a key prosecution witness in the DUI manslaughter case against Maida.

that killed 65-year-old bicyclist George Morreale in April 2014.
Maida, who had been on house arrest, must now remain in the Palm Beach County Jail until his case is resolved.

It's a weird case. She originally took the rap for him and spent over a year under house arrest when she contacted the states attorney and told them that her BF Maida was actually driving her truck when the accident occurred.

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/n...man-arrested-in-14-fatal-crash-had-gir/npp4n/

In email after email, Paul Maida told his ex-girlfriend he loved her. He said he was so sorry for letting her be charged with the crime he committed, but he was going to turn himself in.

When he didn’t, Bianca Fichtel went to the state attorney.

An investigation into hundreds of emails between Maida, 31, and Fichtel revealed he was the driver in a fatal car crash last year, though he told police it was her.

Maida faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, DUI manslaughter, false report and driving with a revoked driver’s license. Maida’s first appearance in court is Wednesday. The charges against Fichtel, who served more than a year on in-house arrest, were dropped Dec. 16, according to court records.
