    http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8...-being-traded-miami-marlins-toronto-blue-jays

The Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays are on the verge of a blockbuster trade that would send shortstop Jose Reyes and pitcher Josh Johnson to Toronto, according to sources.

Also going to Toronto would be pitcher Mark Buehrle, catcher John Buck and infielder-outfielder Emilio Bonifacio.

"Just about any (Marlins) player making money is going to Toronto," a source told ESPN.

"It's a good day to be bluejay!" a tweet from Toronto's Jose Bautista read.

The Blue Jays are sending shortstop Yunel Escobar, two top prospects -- outfielder Jake Marisnick and shortstop Adeiny Hechevarria -- and possibly more to the Marlins.

Reyes (6 years, $106 million) and Buehrle (4 years, $58 million) just signed long-term deals with the Marlins last offseason. Buck has one year remaining at $6 million, Johnson one year at $13.75 million, and Bonifacio is eligible for arbitration after making $2.2 million last year.

I also think its hilarious. the marlins were so hyped last year. On that gay show on HBO, and finished way back. Brand new stadiums and empty seats still. They have no stars now. Maybe this will help the Jays over the hump though in the AL east.

It needs to be axed by Bud, and he needs to strip the Marlins owner of his ownership.

The guy is a piece of shit.

Jeffrey Loria destroyed the Montreal Expos, and after fucking over the city of Miami with the ballpark deal (which the city was really stupid to agree to), he does the ol' bait and switch. Make it appear to the fans and the city that the Marlins are going to be a decent team, and after 1 shitty year, sell it all off, and Miami is left holding the bag, while Loria the shitpipe still breathes oxygen. He's a despicable pile of shit.

Jays have that big sabermetrics guy on staff... I'm sure he had something to do with this. Jays have been doing various trades that made little sense. It's mostly algorithms over there now.

Being from Toronto I'm very happy with this move. It's about time a Toronto pro team made a move like this. We are finally competitive.

    Are you kidding?

Hell, I'm a huge Yankee fan, but I think this trade will put the Jays right in contention...
Adding Buehrle alone makes them much more formidable as they already had a solid starting rotation.

This. Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of the listening to the Blue Jay management trumpet how well the Blue Jays are going to do at the beginning of the season, only to slide into mediocrity by June.

I must be from Missouri. :hhh:
