    Hi everybody,

Pretty laid-back day, mostly uneventful. Cooked dinner for just myself tonight. Sweetie doesn't like sweet and savory together and especially doesn't like coconut in main dishes and has a slight shrimp allergy to boot. I whipped this one up for myself because I've been wanting to make it for a long time and because Heinous Mark suggested that I add a bit more Thai dishes to my repertoire...

    On Tonight's Menu:

Thai Red Coconut Curry Noodles - Shrimp, Vegetables, Fresh Herbs, & Rice Noodles in a spicy Red Curry Coconut Sauce...

...and a track from a great Second Wave Ska band, its Madness with "House of Fun":

Talk about your food and music. I'll be here for a while and drinking a beer in an hour. Hopefully everyone is having an excellent weekend. Stay classy, ladies and gentlemen. :toptip:

I thawed out some mushrooms and the wife made a pizza and pasta out of them. Reminds me of spring time.[IMG]

Its much richer than ramen, but I think ramen is excellent. I love putting a runny egg on top of some Hot Chile Ramen. :buffet:

I usually buy my shrimp from the seafood counter raw. I peel and de-vein them at home.

If you're in a hurry, I suggest buying the precooked and de-veined already. Then you can grab a few them out of the freezer whenever you want and thaw them under running water, then throw them in a salad or some soup.

My dinner has a lot of flavors from Thailand and they usually don't eat any cheese in their food. Cheese wouldn't go well with what I made tonight because it would clash with the coconut milk.

A pound of taco meat! That's amazing. Glad you're sticking to the diet and I hope you and Kiki have a smashing good time. :toptip:

Oh wait I just reread that last question. I read it incorrectly last time!

Yes, shrimp goes well with Parmigiana....garlic butter as well.

Maybe serve it all on a big bed of sauteed spinach. :pigout:

Should fit well into your diet.

Morels!!!!! I need to forage some of those soon! You've given me a reason to live.

Thank you! I don't post them because its a lot of typing, but I'm more than happy to type them up if someone asks.

I've been there, dinkus. Last year a made a big pot of Butternut Squash soup and it was so terrible that I had to toss it. Sometimes those recipes are complete misguided shit.

    Sounds awesome. I love meatloaf.

Do you have anymore leftover for cold sandwiches tomorrow? I love a cold meatloaf sandwich.

Your curry looks good Francisco. :lunch:

Walleye, do you forage for your own morels? I bought some a year ago or so at Whole Foods... I can't remember for sure, but I think they were $75.00 a pound. Holy jesus...

Yes I do. Last year was a real good year for them around here. We got so tired of eating them, I attempted to freeze some, the others I gave to family and friends then sold some to a market for $38 lb.
