40 bucks for a replacement grate?!

A whole new Weber kettle is under $80 at the same store.

the first one they sent me was a little bit warped, not a lot but fuck that for $100, so I called and they sent me out another one and told me to keep the first one.. still have it new in the box. debating whether I should sell it on ebay or CL

it's all about cooking on cast iron. I get insane grill marks on that thing

Pos Rep on the cast iron ! I almost bought one of those Webbers a couple of years ago, but I went with a brinkman because I wanted the smoker capability with an external firebox. If the Brinkman was more solidly made, and had iron grills, I'd have no complaints.

My dad had one of those, and he actually did do some of those mods. I've just never felt comfortable with the vertical smokers. Mine is this:

Eventually, I want to get somebody to build me something similar, out of good solid iron. Losta welders around here, and they make so many custom smokers that are infinitely better than what you can buy at Home Depot, but it ain't cheap...
