Friends and family are always shocked when I tell them frankly I really don't give a fuck about what's going on in Africa, Gazaa or in Mexico. People expect everyone to act concerned about shit that's happening on the other side of the world that doesn't concern them. Sure, I'd like it all to stop and get world peace and whatever, but that ain't happening soon. To me, acting like you care or even sending money over there is nothing but a socially accepted thing to do. If you deviate from that thing, people are gonna act shocked. Like walking around in a grocery store wearing swimming pants and flip flops. It's not what everyone does. I could give less than a shit about rockets being fired between the Israeli's and Palestinians. It doesn't concern me so I don't get emotionally involved in it. I don't think that makes me anti-social, I just think that makes me less of a hypocrite than everyone who's watching it on their HD TV in their nice, warm, safe home acting they really give a shit.
