Bocchetti is probably whining from the attic about how it should have been him that got the gig.

Well yeah, but they appeared on the show because they were (arguably funny) promising new entertainers. Blob was on the show because Artie likes a punching bag, they couldn't afford Gary the R's quote, and the homeless have too much self-respect.

There was a thread in the Stern Show forum about him too. Apparently he is a protege of the Rev. Bob Levy.

lol is that what bob levy said? artie always used to make fun of bob for trying to mentor young comedians who already had better careers than he did

    Ho
Honestly I don't remember either one. Were they two of the many, many awful "comics" who just droned on about their hard life on the road at 19 without even pretending to try to be funny on air?

Sorry ltd. But that's who we were talking about. Anyway, they may have caught up, but not exactly surpassing the old man quite yet. MadTV plus Stern is equal to or better than some SNL and Daily Show spots. The ALS train wreck of course doesn't count.

yeah, i mean i'm sure artie's got a ton more money than they do, but the weekend update host is still kind of a big deal, no? i haven't watched snl in years, but that seems more prominent than anything artie has done in the last 5 years (not an insult--obviously the funniest people are usually not rewarded the way they should be, while mediocre-at-best comedians become worldwide sensations)

Are they trying to look like uglier versions of Wesley Snipes and Jon Cryer, or is that how they look naturally?

Michael Che was awful on his first night on SNL. Couldn't read the cue cards and make the jokes funny at the same time. You'd think he'd have enough practice from being on the Daily Show.

Has there been anything funny about SNL lately, or even a long time? I don't watch SNL anymore, well maybe once a year I will flip it on and it has been a long time since I seen anything funny on that show

It is only memorable for the few real talents that passed through. Only Ackroyd, Murphy, and Hartman. The show always sucked, right back to the boring Greek Diner and killer bee skits. Lorne Michaels produces only shit and very occasionally lucks across someone possessing greatness. He then uses them to produce shit. They become famous in spite of him.

Yes. I just confirmed it for you at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Live_cast_members

Yes, Norm, Rock, and Short were there but they were not great on the show. (Rock was just bad.). Others had briefly diverting schtick (Miller) or were meant for other fields (Downey, Shearer).

I stand by my assertion. :)
