Never saw them but they are from South Jersey and always saw them listed at music festivals around the country

The peripatetic band Don’t Call Me Francis has indicated on their Facebook page Tuesday night that lead singer, Frank Orsini, has died. The South Jersey band is known for performing at events across the Philly region for 25 years.

The 10-member band paid tribute to their leader calling him a “man of many hats” and believed Orsini “would want nothing more than the Don’t Call Me Francis legacy to continue."

    The post says:

"A man of many hats- A father. A brother. A family man. A friend. A band leader. A businessman. An entertainer. A musician. An irreplaceable presence. An inspiration to many. A relentless fighter. An unforgettable person.

As a band, family, friends, and fans- we are all broken hearted. We deeply thank you all for your support and touching words. Frank poured his heart and soul into his band and his music. He built years of wonderful memories both on and off stage. In his own words, he would want nothing more than the Don’t Call Me Francis legacy to continue on. The band is proud to fulfill his wish.

If you believe in forever as a Don’t Call Me Francis fan,

You know there is a rock and roll heaven,

And they have one hell of a band.

    Rest peacefully, Francis Orsini.

    We love and miss you."

Hundreds of fans had posted tributes and condolensces by early this morning. The band said, however, that it would continue on.

"Thank you ALL for your continued heartfelt support and love for Frank. As always, the show must go on..."

I never saw them either, but they always played the jersey shore. Always heard them advertised on WMMR and WYSP.
