‘Friendly the Clown’ accused of raping mentally impaired woman in his Minnesota home BY Nina Golgowski NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Thursday, May 28, 2015, 8:48 PM Mille Lacs County Jail Robert Jensen, 57, aka "Friendly The Clown" and "Bob the Balloon Twister," is behind bars after allegedly raping a 20-year-old mentally impaired woman at his Princeton, Minn., home. A Minnesota entertainer known as "Friendly the Clown" and "Bob the Balloon Twister" is accused of raping a mentally impaired woman while telling her "he was praying for a little girl like her to come around." Roughly two months after the 20-year-old woman says she moved in with Robert Jensen and his wife while coping with a traumatic brain injury she says his "nice" and helpful demeanor turned evil, the Star Tribune reported. It started with a hug when she went to bed on Jan. 29. But around 5 a.m. the next morning she claims she was woken to the 57-year-old Princeton man naked in her room and fondling her. After Jensen left she said she went back to sleep. Around 9 a.m., however, she said he returned and raped her, the Princeton Union-Eagle reported. The woman, later speaking with police, said Jensen told her that "he was praying for a little girl like her to come around and mess around," the Tribune reported, citing the criminal complaint. The woman claims that after she was raped Jensen told her that "he was praying for a little girl like her to come around." She said she confronted Jensen's wife about what happened, but he denied it all when questioned. After telling a case worker about the assaults, she went for a sexual assault exam on Feb. 1 and again recalled what happened. The Tribune reported that a court-ordered DNA test confirmed that semen found on the woman matched a DNA swab taken from Jensen. He was arrested May 8 on three counts of third-degree criminal sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. A DNA test reportedly confirmed that semen left on the woman matched the 57-year-old man, pictured. Shockingly, between the time of his arrest and the allegations, a website listed for him claims he was busy entertaining children. His most recent event, according to the website, was in April at a child's birthday party. On that page, "Friendly the Clown" has five-star ratings from eight reviewers dating back to 2010. They describe him as providing "good clean entertainment" and being a "phenomenal hit with the kids and adults." His specialties listed include balloon twisting, face painting and magic and comedy shows. His bail was set at $10,000.
