I may be getting a DUI. I work at my friend's shop on Wednesdays. He keeps a keg there. So if it's dead all day, by 6 or so I start having some beers. Miller Lite is what he has. So I left there Wednesday, after a couple beers and was a mile from my destination when I got pulled over for speeding. Cop asked the standard questions, including if I'd been drinking. I said no. He called my bluff because he smelled it so I got honest pretty quickly. Asked more questions, which I answered cooperatively and coherently. Then another cop rolls up (of course... you can't ever have just one). The initial officer asked me to get out and walk the line, follow the pen, etc. I passed with flying colors. I know it, because I wasn't even remotely drunk, and because the cop said "Okay, you seem fine to me" and started writing on his clip board, as if he was gonna let me go. THEN the second cop interjected and asked me to step over to the shoulder where he had me take a breathalyzer. I blew, he said "you're over" and handed me the tube and walked away. NEVER said what I blew or showed me the breathalyzer. And didn't really give me a chance to ask. He just got in his car while the other cop cuffed me and said he'd have to take me to Reading hospital (40 minutes away) for a blood test. Sooo, I'm awaiting the blood results. There's a chance I'll be under, but probably an equal chance I'll be over (considering the fact that the alcohol metabolizes and your BAC actually goes UP before it goes down once you've stopped drinking, which is why they make you fucking wait and take you to a hospital 40 minutes away) in which case I'm fucked despite the fact that I was NOT impaired and I DID pass the field sobriety test, even according to the officer.
