I know I'm in the minority, but I just don't get "Pulp Fiction." Sure the violence is cool, but other than that it seems lIke artsy fartsy silliness with long drawn out corny dialogue. I know everyone else disagrees, and I'm fine with that.

"Full Metal Jacket," on the other hand, is about as bad ass as it gets. I can watch Gunnery Sgt. Hartman scream at Pyle a million times and it never gets old. I like "Full Metal Jacket" the way other shedders seem to like "Pulp Fiction."

So vote for the one you like more, and then post a quote. Like this:

"Who's the slimy little Communist shit twinkle-toed cocksucker down here who just signed his own death warrant?! Nobody, huh? The Fairy fucking Godmother said it!"

Valid point, but the first half more than makes up for it.

Not sure how you compare these two? I like them both, but I wouldn't say one is better than the other.

I love both of them, but I'd have to say I've watched Pulp Fiction a helluva lot more than Full Metal Jacket. I have to be in the mood to watch FMJ, but Pulp I can watch every day and not get sick of it.

    I'm reallysurprised at the voting.

FMJ is a much better film. Much like the title - PF is a comic book.

There are several themes going on in FMJ that play with your head. PF is just makeup and grunting.

    FMJ is a film

    PF is a movie.

PF is fun, don't get me wrong. I like it too - but I can watch FMJ all day long.

For example, when Joker shoots the sniper - watch the peace button disappear just as he shoots her.

    Or the line:

"What in the name of Jesus H. Christ are you animals doing in my head?"

Full Metal Jacket is the better film. Most people are completely unaware that Kubrick loaded the second half of Full Metal Jacket with subliminal themes of rape and sexual violence, and if you go back and watch much of what unfolds was actually foreshadowed in the first half:

Two very different films and both are classics
