When New York was trying to decide on a monument for 9/11. Howard stated that they should erect a statue of him in the same spot. As tall as the towers. To this day, I laugh a little inside imagining what that would've looked like. Classic peak show. Any other fond memories (absurd)?

not absurdist but my final favorite interview was the one Howard did with Tommy James ... last interview I ever sat through all the way -Tommy James had some GREAT stories about the old Mafia/Jewish guys who ran the recording industry.

Not from Howard but Jon Hein. A couple of months ago on The Wrap Up Show Jon Hein asked Gary this question, "If Howard was asked to host the Oscars would he?" Apparently Jon Hein thinks that in 2015, Howard Stern who can't get enough viewers for Howard TV which could run on a webcam, could possibly be asked to host the most prestigious night in the movie entertainment universe.

"Robin they contacted me but when I told them my idea of having Gary The Conqueror (because retard is banned) sing the opening song they got scared. I then told them how I wanted to ask all of the Best Supporting Actresses if they ever did anal and the Best Male actors about their net worth and cock size they got even more scared. If I cant do it my way then I'm not into it. Right Robin? Robin? Is Robin's microphone on? Robin?"

My wife bought it & read it and talked in me into reading it.
It pays off in spades -no pun intended.
Awesome stories about White and Black gangsters/gamblers/pimps/dope dealers, etc who ran the NYC recording industry.

One of the best books on rock & roll in the 1960s I've ever read.

Todd p has posted some of these but the Gilbert shows where they are riffing on old obscure comics from the 50s and 60s. There was nothing commercial or marble oriented about it, and that's in part what made it so damn funny. "Mr. Cavett, I'm concerned about the negroes, recycling and the ecology."

I'll convince everyone that I'm honest by saying what an honest man I am over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
