Universal's "Furious 7" crossed the finish line this weekend with a record $143million opening at the domestic box office.

Not only is a $143 million opening completely unheard of for April (easily zooming by last April's record $95 million by "Captain America: The Winter Solider"), but it's the biggest opening weekend so far this year.

The $85 million opening of 2015's prior record holder "Fifty Shades of Grey" -- a film also released by Universal, a division of NBCUniversal -- seems miniscule in comparison.

"Furious 7" also becomes the top opening in series history surpassing the $97.3 million of 2013's "Fast & Furious 6."

    They know their audience.

I find the movies really boring and simple.

    82% critic rating on RT

It's probably not a bad action flick if you're into that kinda thing

I saw the first one in the movie theater! I liked it, but how they spun 7 out of that plot, I have no idea

Vin Deisel seems rather fruity in his late night interviews.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

One of the tv networks should have looked into this a long time ago. Instead of the fag shit they put on now. America's Got Talent? Nobody is watching, you fools.

I could barely get through the first one, I was supposed to believe this goody two shoes cop decided to help the criminals he had infiltrated for no apparent reason?

    "I almost had you"

"You didn't even have your car"

Terrible beyond belief, just shows there are alot of morons out there.

I'm ashamed to say I want to see it. They are ridiculous, loud and stupid. But that's exactly why I want to see it.

I have a friend who does movie reviews, he's all artsy/fartsy with most of the movies he does, he'll call out garbage if it's garbage, but he gave this movie glowing reviews. Said if you go into it for what it is, just a fun movie with tons of action, then you're going to leave happy. If you are one of those that just likes to bitch and tear everything down you're going to be mad.

Sometimes you just have to take them for what they are, 2 hours of big screen fun designed to take you away from real life for a few hours. I've never seen any of these movies but that's my usual mindset when I go see a big blockbuster movie.

I kinda like them. Tokyo drift seemed good. I liked the addition of Dwayne to the cast. I noticed the first foreign language cams are out. Think I'll wait for it to hit cable in a few weeks.
