...Howard is to muh-KEEN-uh
(for Ex Machina)
WTF is that? It's not how you say it.
I'm not sure what he was told by the promoters of the film as far as pronunciation, you never can tell with him.
Machina in Spanish would be pronounced Ma-Cheen-ah.
I'm not sure where he got Ma-Keen-ah unless the promoters specifically asked him to pronounce it that way because they like the way that sounds?
In English it would be Ma-Sheen-ah
I don't think it's Spanish. Isn't it Greek?
I think it's 'MA-keen-ah
In Italian it is: la macchina
For example, beautiful car is: bella macchina
Did anyone here see the movie? Howard claimed he saw it and loved it, but he had no idea how to pronounce the title. Seems like another case of Wiggy lying and being paid to praise something he hasn't seen. Do they actually say the word "Machina" in the movie?
Anytime he says STEER-oids. It's irritating. Not to mention his fucking gross wig.
Isn't that what little Lupe used to say?? Along with vajjjjina pooosey...
Yeah, but where's the accent?
Howard says it just like Gary says mac-HINE, except with a KEENA.
And ex machina has Greek origins not dago.
It comes from Deus ex Machina - god from the machine. It is primarily a writing term. It is used to describe stories where the writer has dug a hole too deep to finish without a divine help. For instance, the protagonist is stuck in a literal hole that he cannot climb out of and it suddenly rains enough for him to swim out of. It is mostly used as a perjorative.
Not sure how Howard is pronouncing it as I do not care for the show anymore. But Ma-Keen-Ah would be correct.
What I always hated was Howard say 'shh' instead of 'sss".
" I need to take a pish."
What a fucking tool.
