George seems honest in these remarks, poor guy still hasn't figured out Howard is a pathological liar:

    http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/cultist/2013/07/oh_myyy_george_takei_on_artie.php

We had been discussing Franklin Delano Roosevelt, whom Takei had described as flawed. Naturally, the conversation turned to Artie Lange. When Takei started to become a regular guest and eventually the announcer on Stern, he and Lange bonded rather quickly."He's a funny guy and he's a very original guy," Takei said. "A guy who has a lot of demons. And again, he's a flawed human being. I love the guy. He's basically a very decent guy.
"He plays that New Jersey macho guy. Sports-loving, beer-swilling and yeah, other problems," Takei continued, alluding to Lange's well-documented struggle with heroin addiction. "But demons have a way of suddenly overtaking him."
In early 2010, Lange stabbed himself nine times with a 13-inch knife.
"That attempt at self mutilation," Takei remembered. "It was horrific. Blood spattered all over that apartment. I tried to get in touch with him and got no response. So finally I wrote to his sister. And his sister said he was healing. He was in a sanitarium and isolating himself."
Takei had only one message for his friend:
"I told him that we love him. We used to talk regularly but I haven't gotten any communication since [the suicide attempt]. But he has a lot of things haunting him. Maybe what he did has given him a guilt thing about it. That's why, I think, Howard's still a little skittish about it. Because Artie's so volatile and explosive."

Fucking Artie predicted his own demise on the Stern Show. "This will end badly" he once remarked. The man keeps his promises (and predictions.)

"Blood splattered all over the apartment"? Damn, heard he recently claimed he just did a few short jabs in the gut to attempt to get light headed/high

It's really sad. I have been listening to a best of Artie lately so I'm extra in the Artie zone.

Paying George a $1000 dollars a day is to rich for Howard's blood since his great marble lawsuit loss . . . :oy2:: oy:

It's impossible to not love George Takei. The only times I've found him annoying is when Howard goes int Gay Mode, and wants to know every gory personal detail about what George and Brad do in the bedroom. But, that's Howard's fault, not George's.

The first couple of years when George would come in to do his quarterly announcer's gig were magical, IMO. His laugh and intellectual insights into the show and topics were a breath of fresh air.

Artie was the only reason to enjoy the HSS. All it is now is an amateur, ugly psychiatrist analyzing everyone he comes in contact with.

George was great the first two times he was on the show because he's so over the top. Now his appearances are stale and the homo level in the studio goes off the charts.
