George Zimmerman retweets picture of Trayvon Martin’s corpse posted by admirer calling him a ‘one man army’ BY Jason Silverstein NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Updated: Monday, September 28, 2015, 9:01 AM A A A Share this URL Anonymous/AP Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman after a scuffle in February 2012. Perpetual lunatic George Zimmerman retweeted an image Sunday showing the corpse of Trayvon Martin, the black teenager he shot and killed without consequence three years ago. An apparent Zimmerman admirer tweeted the photo to him, adding a boast: “Z-Man is a one man army.” Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch guard, briefly recirculated the graphic crime scene photo to his 11,000 Twitter followers. The picture — which was used as evidence in the trial that ended with Zimmerman’s acquittal — shows Martin’s body lying on grass as investigators stand over it. @TherealGeorgeZ via Twitter George Zimmerman retweeted this photo of Trayvon Martin's corpse, which was used as evidence in Zimmerman's trial. Zimmerman’s retweet once roused the last round of online disgust at him. “George Zimmerman is online posting pics of Trayvon Martin’s dead body right now,” rapper Talib Kweli tweeted. George Zimmerman is online posting pics of Trayvon Martin's dead body right now. Let that sink in America. #blacklivesmatter — Talib Kweli Greene (@TalibKweli) September 27, 2015 “Let that sink in America. #blacklivesmatter” Twitter swiftly deleted the tweet. The accounts for Zimmerman and the troll who tweeted at him remain active. AP George Zimmerman has been on a roll of racially insensitive tweets this year. Zimmerman’s other recent tweets are hardly more flattering — as of Monday morning, his most recent message shows a picture of President Obama above the caption, “If I had a race baiting President, He would look like this.” The retweet was just the latest online antic for Zimmerman, who has appeared increasingly unhinged since he was allowed to walk for shooting the 17-year-old Martin after a scuffle in a gated community in Florida. Last month, Zimmerman replied to a critic on Twitter by writing, “We all know how it ended for the last moron that hit me. Give it a whirl cupcake.” Earlier this year, Zimmerman said black Virginia murderer Vester Flanagan was “too much of a daisy to deal w/racism,” called Obama a “Racist,” and painted a Confederate battle flag dedicated to an anti-Muslim Florida gun shop owner. Zimmerman now uses the Confederate painting as his Twitter profile photo.
