Today a new Gilbert Gottfried + Frank Santopadre podcast came out. It's 12 minutes long. It's fun and funny.
Gil & Frank discuss their favorite movies & toss around a bit of trivia. The usual stuff ...but no guests.

But there is one thing of particular interest in this podcast ...Frank & Gilbert are requesting donations from listeners.
    It's a subtle pitch. Maybe.
I have no problem with that.
I mean ...I pay for Netflix. I'd pay for Turner Classic Movies if I had to. Most of you pay for HBO and/or Showtime.

Please tell me your feelings regarding the following:

Would you be willing to shell out a few bucks a month for a podcast?
After all, Vashier sold his soul to the Monkey Demon Benjy Bronk for far less entertainment.

I'd listen to Gilbert as often as possible. People seem to love him or hate him, and I am one who can't help laughing at his stuff. No filters, no shame... that's Gilbert. The other guy is new to me, but I have to think he's okay if Gilbert works with him. Glad we can hear him more than once a year at a roast now. Thanks, Senator, for posting this one!

Interesting. So if he takes in "Donations" instead of charging a subscription, does that make it tax free?

It'd be like him to go that route.

Well you know this wasn't meant to be an advertisement for Gilbert but ...I don't know. My wife would kick my ass if I sprang for the $25 a month.
So I'm kinda swinging between $4 and $10.
I'd love to see the friggin' video segments but goddamn - nobody's paying for my cashews.

I dig it. I'll contribute. I love the podcast, I check frequently to see when he's uploaded a new one. It doesn't matter who the guest is, it's Gilbert at his absolute unfiltered best.

Yeah and I really like Frank Santopadre a lot.
The show would be a mess without Frank.

I'm a Gilbert fan but Frank is a really good interviewer.

Yeah for sure. Frank is the perfect straight man for Gilbert. His research is on point, and he moves the show along.

So Gilbert has been doing this for free all this time? No sponsors?

Has Artie or norm ever been on?

    Are they ever live?

I would kick him a few bucks on occasion but won't be locked into a recurring amount.

If it's good entertainment I'm willing to pay for it but when the commercials and Stern like bullshit start I'm gone.

I lovw the logic of "well I'm already paying 10 bucks a month for all this other shit so what's another?"

generation kickstarter. I'd toss 10 a month for your posts, Senator, should you ever decide to go subscription-based.

Well, I am a friend of Frank's, so this is good feedback. Thank you!
That being said, yeah, I think I could pay $4 a month or even $10.
    They're both good people.

All of the shows I've listened to originally aired out of sequence and pre-recorded -usually at the Friar's or (I think) Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art .
To my knowledge the show has never aired live.

I'm thinking of going the ten bucks per month.
Wish I could afford the the $25 per month deal for the extras that come with it.

Gilbert is not a charitable organization, so its all taxable to him and not deductible by you.

The show does have sponsors as I fast forward through them.

He must be getting a large bill for bandwidth. Carolla said that his bill was >$9k a month for bandwidth and that was 5 years ago.

Maybe he should do a paid archive like Maron and others. Maron gives 6 months of shows and archives the others. Maybe Gilbert gives a few shows for free ?
