Steam has the base game down to $29, which is pretty cheap. However, I own Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3, and I got bored of them pretty quick and didn't end up sinking very much time into any of them. Ten or twenty hours tops. I get tired of the repetitive conversation with the NPCs, and managing tons of useless loot. I've always said that those games feel like MMOs where I'm the only real person on the server.

Is Skyrim different enough and better enough that I'll enjoy it more than those earlier titles?

I have a really powerful computer, so it'll definitely look great. I'll be able to crank the settings up, but a game has to be more than good graphics.

I've bought a lot of games and ended up barely playing them. I'd rather not make the same mistake with Skyrim.

    Okay. Thoughts?

You should save your money and invest in hallucinogens. There's no limit to where you can go with a little LSD.

If you have over 200 hours you're prepared to dedicate to it then go right ahead. It's fun.

That's the thing, though. People said the same thing about all the other Bethesda games, and I got bored way faster than that. Is this one really different and better?

If you don't like Bethesda rpg's, don't buy Skyrim.

I believe Gary is suggesting that you perform an illegal act. Doesn't it seem that the owner of this site would hate to be put in the position of publishing people suggesting that you commit a crime? Maybe I should alert to save the site a lot of headache.

Fuck yeah. It's a great game. I had that Oblivion game, and didn't even bother because it bored the fuck out of me. Skyrim is the shit.

    Um, pardon me? :wtf:
