Steam has the base game down to $29, which is pretty cheap. However, I own Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3, and I got bored of them pretty quick and didn't end up sinking very much time into any of them. Ten or twenty hours tops. I get tired of the repetitive conversation with the NPCs, and managing tons of useless loot. I've always said that those games feel like MMOs where I'm the only real person on the server. Is Skyrim different enough and better enough that I'll enjoy it more than those earlier titles? I have a really powerful computer, so it'll definitely look great. I'll be able to crank the settings up, but a game has to be more than good graphics. I've bought a lot of games and ended up barely playing them. I'd rather not make the same mistake with Skyrim. Okay. Thoughts?
