Just recently saw a commercial for a Leo Di Caprio on his new climate change movie which got me thinking... In the 1970-80s - air, water and ground were what environment groups made their living on. They rallied around this problem and fundraised it to death. They did such a great job that most of the issues were solved in modern economy countries that actually could afford the clean up and emerging or lesser developed countries told them to screw off. In the 1990s, these environmentalists needed another cause to rally (and fundraise) around and viola! Global warming was invented - how convenient! Whether its true or not is a matter of debate for later but lets say its true... for now. The only people who listen to environmentalists are modern countries... the rest will tell them to screw off. So modern countries have to bear the burden of "solving" global warming and the only way to do that is fossil fuel reduction. Fossil fuel reduction means higher energy prices in the U.S. and other countries which leads to higher manufacturing costs and lost jobs to emerging countries. Nuclear energy is the only real solution and the greenies hate that worse than coal. Greenies love talking solar/wind but know that most of them will die before those source even cracks 10% of base load energy in the U.S. Just remember environmental activism is a job just like an autoworker or a coal miner and you will look at these issues differently.
