World's top climate scientists admit computers got the effects of greenhouse gases wrong

-Leaked report reveals the world is warming at half the rate claimed by IPCC in 2007
-Scientists accept their computers 'may have exaggerated'

A leaked copy of the world’s most authoritative climate study reveals scientific forecasts of imminent doom were drastically wrong.

The Mail on Sunday has obtained the final draft of a report to be published later this month by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the ultimate watchdog whose massive, six-yearly ‘assessments’ are accepted by environmentalists, politicians and experts as the gospel of climate science.

They are cited worldwide to justify swingeing fossil fuel taxes and subsidies for ‘renewable’ energy.

Yet the leaked report makes the extraordinary concession that the world has been warming at only just over half the rate claimed by the IPCC in its last assessment, published in 2007.

Back then, it said that the planet was warming at a rate of 0.2C every decade – a figure it claimed was in line with the forecasts made by computer climate models.

But the new report says the true figure since 1951 has been only 0.12C per decade – a rate far below even the lowest computer prediction.

The 31-page ‘summary for policymakers’ is based on a more technical 2,000-page analysis which will be issued at the same time. It also surprisingly reveals: IPCC scientists accept their forecast computers may have exaggerated the effect of increased carbon emissions on world temperatures – and not taken enough notice of natural variability.

lThey recognise the global warming ‘pause’ first reported by The Mail on Sunday last year is real – and concede that their computer models did not predict it. But they cannot explain why world average temperatures have not shown any statistically significant increase since 1997.

lThey admit large parts of the world were as warm as they are now for decades at a time between 950 and 1250 AD – centuries before the Industrial Revolution, and when the population and CO2 levels were both much lower.

lThe IPCC admits that while computer models forecast a decline in Antarctic sea ice, it has actually grown to a new record high. Again, the IPCC cannot say why.

lA forecast in the 2007 report that hurricanes would become more intense has simply been dropped, without mention.

This year has been one of the quietest hurricane seasons in history and the US is currently enjoying its longest-ever period – almost eight years – without a single hurricane of Category 3 or above making landfall................................

This was all about making money. Al Gore - check. Solyndra - check. Mission accomplished.

So, it went up .4 degrees, but has now started to go back down again. Gore stood to make billions in a derivative market for carbon credits - and no one was allowed to even question his integrity...

Well it is still going up right? Maybe not at the rate that was claimed, but still. So don't we have an obligation to play it safe and try to limit our pollution of the planet? Maybe, we as humans, have nothing to do with it, but if there's even a small chance that we do, shouldn't we make an effort?

I agree it's bullshit to scare people into a panic on false info to make some money. So im glad the whole truth came out. This reminds me of same bullshit as the whole "vaccinations causes autism" lie that was nothing but complete fabrications of an insane (former) doctor and a washed up celebrity with nice tits.

Not really, it's within a reasonable degree of error.

Is it really a bad thing to invest in finding a renewable energy source, that doesn't harm the planet and uses the least amount of the planets resources as possible? Don't know how that's political or a bad thing. And to deny the fact that we've put so much shit in the atmosphere and oceans is stupid. I don't know if the planet's warming natural or not, or not warming at all, but I do know for a fact that we as a species have shit all over where we eat and live. Pipelines are bad, oil coating the ocean is really bad, verified holes in the ozone layer is pretty fukn bad, etc. This is crap we did, this can't be a positive for the earth's resources we need to live on, and keep our species alive. Trips me out that people argue that we haven't done some damage to the planet.

No, it is. It has gone up and down a little the whole time but since 1980 it has slowly gone up.

I'm not arguing the fact that Gore is a complete and utter shitbag. Just saying it does look like the temperature is actually rising (for whatever reason).

It is a bad thing if that means taxing everyone to death and wasting the money on political cronies with scam technology. There is no way for the government to find a renewable energy source - they just can't keep from wasting and stealing money. The solution has to come from the private sector, just like every other great invention.

Agreed, I meant the people who only fall on the side of where their political affiliation tells them to fall. The people who say the planet is fine, all left propaganda. When common sense should tell you the planet most likely isn't ok, because we've caused a lot of self inflicted damage.

    Gotta love Nigel Farage.

UKIP’s Farage savages Barroso on how manufactured global warming fears are driving poor people into fuel poverty.
Farage held up NASA satellite images which show Arctic sea ice has increased by 60% since last August, confounding claims by climate change alarmists that the Arctic would be “ice free” by the summer of 2013.

I'm far from a hardcore environmentalist but I think it's ridiculous to say human's aren't having a very negative impact on the world and steps need to be taken. just go to any industrialized city in the summer and you can fucking taste the air. "global warming" may be hard to prove and observe but the smog and water that is toxic to swim in are pretty clear.

yup planets just fine now, A-ok. Everyone just calm down and lets go back to drilling and polluting, nothing to worry about.
