Godfather Movie Marathon on AMC today. All I hear is Artie in my head.

Godfather, Godfather II, and (sigh) even the awful Godfather III. The first two were so good, up there for my favorite movies. I'll take those over the mediocre football games we have today.
I know wiggy claims it's his favorite movie, (which I doubt) but I remember all the times Artie could run off scenes from the movie on demand. Led to some good bits. Reminds me of how far the show has fallen since Artie left.

You think of Artie while watching Godfather 1+2? How unfortunate for you!

I don't hate GODDATHER 3 as much as most. Yeah, it's not on par with the first two, but it's still more entertaining than most of the shit Hollywood churns out.

I had to laugh when Artie got to do scenes for Coppola. After he ran his lines Artie was beaming like it was genuinely probably one of the top #5 thrilling moments of his life. Coppola by comparison had a bemused look on his face as if to say "ok, are you done now?"

This is true....but it's such a let down in comparison to the first two...but then again the bar was raised so high after the second one there was nowhere to go but down.

Well, it would have been better with Wynona Rydmycock instead of that godawful Sofia Coppola.

I watched him do this once on HTV and he was clearly reading it from something out of the camera's sight. Fuck that phony fat fuck

There's a line from Pacino around the time of GF III that made me laugh... some kind of stray remark to his agent about how "Francis has lost his mind--he thinks he can make George Hamilton into an actor!":giggle:

In retrospect, III could have been much better with Winona pre-shoplifting, and Duvall in place of Zorro The Gay Blade. Coppola was at the height of arrogance thinking he could just replace Robert Duvall. Story was that Pacino asked for $6 million and Duvall wanted the same. Looking back, Pacino was worth his $6 million, but Duvall would have at least been worth 5 mill, just to improve the acting.

Joe Mantegna I love in many other things, but he was absolute shit in this film. The writing wasn't nearly as good as the first two also.
